Tsunami Lab

  • This webpage is dedicated to the "Tsunamis and more" research group at Brigham Young University. We are interested in applications of Mathematical methods to gain a better understanding of the physical world we live in. This includes a range of mathematics from classical methods for partial differential equations, to modern methods in data science and statistics.

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.

If you are interested in working in this group, please explore the active research we have, and send an email to Jared Whitehead inquiring about openings. We are always interested in recruiting students at all levels including undergraduates, Masters, and PhD students. The research involved here is inherently interdisciplinary so it is not necessary that you are a Mathematics student, but you do need some fundamental Mathematics courses and basic Python programming skills to contribute to any of the projects described here.
